From Streets to Schools: The Almajiri Transformation

Oneness Foundation proudly presents its transformative initiative, “Almajiri Dreams,” aimed at changing the lives of Almajiri children in Kaduna and Adamawa states. This comprehensive program is designed to address the multifaceted needs of these traditional Islamic students, integrating formal education while ensuring they receive essential healthcare and nutrition. By respecting cultural and religious traditions, we strive to create a holistic model that empowers these children, bridging the gap between their current reality and a brighter future. Our mission is to provide these street children with the opportunity to thrive, paving their path from the streets to schools.

At the core of the Almajiri Dreams initiative lies our commitment to formal education integration and literacy programs, which are crucial for the development and future prospects of Almajiri children. By collaborating with local educational authorities and leveraging existing Islamic schools, we aim to develop curriculum frameworks that honor Islamic teachings while incorporating essential academic subjects.
